Iran says it can threaten Israel with its Missiles

A Iranian military commander said that his country is able to build ballistic missiles with more than

2,000km range.

Brigadier General Amir Ali Hadjizadeh, the Aerospace Commander of the Revolutionary Guards, is quoted today by IRNA news agency as saying, that his country’s armed forces are able to hit Israel and the US bases in the region with Medium Range Ballistic Missiles (MRBM). The statement was made during an exercise named ‘Great Prophet Mohammad 6’, during which a series of 14 ballistic missiles were test-fired this morning.

Judging by the images provided by IRNA, these missiles were tactical battlefield weapons of much shorter range though. What is shown appears to be either the Shahab-1 or -2 with a range of about 330 and 650

Kilometers respectively.

There are indications however, that Iran is developing the Shahab-5 and -6 missiles. These seem to be Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM) with a range of 4000 and 6000km and the capability to deliver a single nuclear warhead.
