Moroccan Military Transport Plane Crash – 78 Dead


Aviation Week Defense Update reports that earlier today a Moroccan Air Force C-130 Hercules transport plane crashed in southern Morocco, everybody on board was killed in the incident.

The crash occurred near the city of Guelmin in southern Morocco, near the border of the Moroccan-occupied country West Sahara. The victims were 60 Moroccan soldiers, 12 civilians and six crew.

The Royal Moroccan Air Force operates a fleet of 11 more Lockheed C-130H Hercules transports, 2 KC-130 tankers and 2 RC-130 radar warning planes. All of them were delivered in the late 70s or early 80s.
